A BPD assessment is a structured clinical evaluation conducted by a qualified psychologist to determine whether someone meets the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder. It is not the same as a borderline personality quiz or a self-assessment checklist you find online.
A clinical borderline personality disorder assessment involves a detailed intake interview, standardised psychometric tools, review of your history, and a formal written report with a diagnosis (or differential diagnosis), severity indicators, and treatment recommendations. At Coach For Mind, every BPD evaluation is conducted by RCI-registered clinical psychologists trained in personality disorder assessment — not counsellors or coaches. If you're exploring a different kind of personality assessment, see our MCMI Assessment
Uses validated psychometric instruments and DSM-5 criteria — not generic online questionnaires.
You receive a written diagnostic formulation with findings, severity indicators, and next steps.
Only psychologists registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India conduct assessments at CFM.
BPD often goes undiagnosed for years — frequently misread as depression, anxiety, or "just being emotional." If any of the patterns below feel familiar, a formal borderline personality disorder assessment can bring real clarity.
Intense emotional swings — moods that shift rapidly and feel impossible to regulate, often triggered by perceived rejection or criticism.
Unstable relationships — a push-pull pattern of idealising and then deeply resenting the same people.
Fear of abandonment — persistent anxiety about being left, even in stable relationships, often driving reactive behaviour.
Impulsive behaviour — spending, substance use, risky decisions, or self-destructive acts that feel compulsive rather than chosen.
Unstable sense of self — chronic uncertainty about who you are, what you value, or what you want from life.
History of self-harm or suicidal ideation — especially when tied to relationship distress or feelings of emptiness.
Family members can also initiate a referral on behalf of someone they are concerned about. We are happy to guide you through the process.
Our BPD assessment process is thorough, clinically grounded, and explained to you at every step — so you are never left guessing what is happening or why.
A structured intake session with an RCI-registered psychologist covering your symptom history, functioning across relationships and work, and any previous mental health input.
We use validated, internationally recognised BPD assessment measures and DSM-5 criteria — not generic checklists.
You receive a written report with a clear diagnosis (or differential diagnosis), severity indicators, and specific treatment recommendations — including whether CBT or DBT is most appropriate for you.
Your psychologist walks you through the findings, answers your questions, and helps you understand what the results mean for your life and your next steps in care.
